To clarify terms for a non Australian audience, Indigenous Australian refers to both Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. First Nations and First Australians are also common terms used to describe both Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. Note we often use the term peoples to describe the many Aboriginal nations and many Torres Strait Islander nations there are.
