Overview

Considered to be one of America's greatest living authors, Marilynne Robinson has written five novels, including the Pulitzer Prize winning, 'Gilead', multiple essay collections, and several commissioned work for The New Yorker, and The New York Review of Books. In 2012, she was awarded the National Humanities Medal by President Barack Obama, who proudly states Robinson is one of his favorite authors.

As per her biography on Wikipedia, Robinson's novels "are noted for their thematic depiction of faith and rural life. The subjects of her essays span numerous topics, including the relationship between religion and science, U.S. history, nuclear pollution, John Calvin, and contemporary American politics."
