Illustrated City 2023 Middle Grade Reading Challenge

This challenge is focused on reading middle grade and other children's books. There is one prompt for each month of the year.

You can either read one book per prompt, or challenge yourself to fill the same prompt several times within the month - whatever you prefer.

Challenge prompts

1. January - Read a book with an animal companion

2. February - Read a book based in a different country or culture from your own

3. March - Read a book with present parents

4. April - Read an illustrated book

5. May - Read a book inspired by mythology or folktales

6. June - Read a book where a main character has a disability or a physical or mental illness

7. July - Read a sequel

8. August - Read a book with a mystery

9. September - Read a book which is set in either the future or the past

10. October - Read an atmospheric book
