As an author, I want to undertake an experiment where I read the worst books ever written, so as to not feel so bad about my own writing journey. These books are full of awful themes, and this challenge is not to be taken by the faint of heart. Many novels in this list are classist, sexist, racist, or otherwise offensive, not just bad writing.
