My hope is that this reading across Asia challenge will be used as a way to not only help you read outside of your comfort zone but also help to challenge harmful stereotypes that are wrongfully perpetuated by media as well as build empathy.  It is also important to note and pay attention to the types of books that have been chosen to be translated. Are there certain themes that these books follow? Are they helping or harming communities? What is different or similar to what you notice in the writing compared to what you are most familiar with?
