Brothers South of the Mason Dixon by Abbi Glines
2.0
Summary of the Book
The book is about Scarlet North and Bray Sutton. She cheated on his twin brother with him and ran away after that and decided to start a new life, but her past comes back to hunt her.
My Opinion
I didn’t like this book, it was just too infuriating. Ok so this is the second book in the Boys South of Mason Dixon series. The first one was about the oldest brother Asher, the second boy Steel and the girl Dixie- yes it was also a love triangle thing. So, there are five Sutton boys- Asher, Steel, Brett, Bray and Dallas and for some reason they are so hot that no girl can decide which one she wants, but you know what that wasn’t what made me bored of this book.
You see the problem I had with this book was the characters. I’ve read all of Abbi’s books and honestly all the characters are pretty much. Girl who has a past, meets a boy or the boy is somehow connected with her past, they fall in love, something happens, they separate and the boy tries to get the girl and the girl keeps refusing and everyone around the boy for some unknown reason keeps telling the boy not to break the girl’s heart, when it’s so clear that the boy is trying his best to get the girl, but girl so dumb she doesn’t know what she wants and all the blame is always on the boys and the girl never gets any blame even when most of the issues they are facing is partly her fault, and then everyone with their magical eyesight is always like “that girl has been through so much, she is so brave, you should treat her better or else” and don’t get me started on how all the guys are always possessive for some reason, if they see anyone glance at their girl, they are ready to start a fight and I’m just like “is this really how people behave or am I dreaming”.
So Scarlet dated Brett to get to Bray, then cheated on Brett with Bray and when everyone finds out she leaves and starts a new life, when her best friend in the world and someone who’s always been there for her is getting married, she doesn’t want to go and it took the persuasion of the youngest Sutton boy to convince her to come, when she gets there she see Bray and he wants to start over again and wants to be with her, but this crazy girl keeps saying no, he tries with this girl and she refuses like constantly and everyone is just like “Scarlet taught me the real meaning of bravery” . sorry but all I saw her do was run and hide. When she made a mistake with the twins, I get giving some time to sort things out between themselves and then facing the consequences, but she ran and never came back almost didn’t come back for her friend’s wedding, because she was scared of facing them. Honestly, I would have been happier if Bray ended up with someone else since she was being so difficult, that would have been a twist I would have loved. I’m sure in the next book they whoever it’s about will be like they went through so much and came out even stronger. No that isn’t what happened.
