The mystery came to an end abruptly. It didn't seem like a large payoff for going through the previous 300 pages. And I'm always against a woman going back to her cheating husband.
While the pace was slow, I still enjoyed the book. Phyllis A Whitney is clearly a good writer. Her characters were fleshed out, and I liked that she incorporated local history.
