The beginning of this book is the absolute worst because I couldn't force myself to give a shit about Julian and Rhee at all. I was about ready to give up on this when Aly was introduced. His chapters are so much more interesting than Rhee's; for some reason I really couldn't connect with her.
Rhee is definitely not one of my favourite characters and this sort of reads like a knockoff version of The Lunar Chronicles. Nevertheless, the interesting world building and action-packed storyline did manage to garner this debut novel a decent rating.
