I read through the first two books at light speed but the pace of this book felt like someone had hit the brakes.
It was still great - the characters are amazing and I love the way the plot reads like a video game.
However, it felt like the author was nerding out on his own ideas too much and putting in WAY too much exposition. In the first two books, whenever the character picked up a weapon or meet a chara ter, it would give a brief description of a couple of sentences. In this book you get three paragraphs of it's complete life story. For me it took me out of it and I started to get bored with some of the overly descriptive scenes. This might be a 'me problem' though because my husband is also reading this series and he really likes the extra description as it helps with world building.

Still an awesome book!
