You Need a Budget: The Proven System for Breaking the Paycheck-To-Paycheck Cycle, Getting Out of Debt, and Living the Life You Want by Jesse Mecham

3.0

The best idea I think I got from the book is the three reasons why we are always reluctant to immediately get away from things we know for sure will be useless, which are: the overwhelming number of options we have drives us crazy, the obscure financial plan makes every choice seems irrational, and that the scared feeling deep inside hinder us from facing with the real in and out of our budget. The next step is to make sure the money decisions are aligned with the way we want to live.

The book mentioned 4 rules, but all 4 are variations of the first one: "give every dollar a job". The rule is pretty straightforward, each and every dollar must be assigned to some jobs, and its flow should be watched thoroughly. I have been practicing this for years since high school so I could not agree more with the author.

I have already practice almost the same thing so I could not learn much new thing from this book, but overall a good quick read to the extent that I should've gave this book a 4-star rating if I found it earlier.
