When Breath Becomes Air by Paul Kalanithi
4.0
A beautiful read. Kalanithi's prose when writing about literature and life is lyrical and illuminating; when writing about being a surgeon, it is warm-hearted, insightful, astute. A part of me wished that he had taken a different path and shared his gift earlier. But then he wouldn't have touched so many lives as a surgeon - or been able to share his story of surgeon-to-patient here. The book feels unfinished - not surprisingly - but perhaps that is his legacy?
