oh my god i love this book so much! this is my third rainbow adult romance and she's 3/3 for ruining my life (complimentary)

this was such an interesting way to tell a love story that really caught me of guard but in the best way. it really reminded me of the nora ephron big three (sleepless, mail and harry) and it warmed my nostalgic heart. i love media that's set in the 90's/early 2000s and this book was just brimming with late 90s nostalgia!

as all her books, this was so much more than just a romance! we really got to know beth, jennifer and lincoln as people and we really got to root for them and emphasize with them and love them as individual characters. I absolutely loved beth and jennifer's friendship sm and it just goes to show how incredible rainbow rowell is with drafting relationships bc she managed to make us care about this friendship that was all told through email messaging!

and lincoln!!!! oh wow i related to him so much it hurt. i love him and his big heart so much. it felt so comfortable to be in his head and it was such a cathartic journey to see where he was at the beginning of the book and where he was at the end.

PSA: beth and linclon had zero to very little interaction in this book (much like sleepless in seattle) and that will either REALLY work for you (due to mutual pining) or really NOT work for you. so go into this book with that in mind. it's more of a twist on the epistolary trope than anything, which again will either really work for you or it won't

i’ll leave you with this: the last line of this book will always be famous to me and i'll think about it for the rest of my life bc I WANT THAT KIND OF LOVE SM
