One of the best books I've read this year. It's fiction, but it reads like a memoir. The emotional resonance is powerful, and the story is both beautiful and deeply tragic. If you're working through a difficult time in your life, or you're trying to better understand the difficulties of your own life, this book provides fertile ground for reflection and deep thinking.
I so wanted to reach out to the author after finishing the book, mainly to thank him for a deftly crafted story that I'll read over and over again, but it turns out he passed away in 2017.
