Pain is a great ending for the Curse of the Gods series. There are parts that are slow but the authors have a lot of story to explain for the end to make sense. It is a HAE. Part of me selfishly wishes that they'd continue the story many life-cycles later.  Seeing the continued growth of Willa, the abcurses, Emmy, Cyrus, the dynamic between Willa and the Abcurses and also Emmy and Cyrus, getting to know some of the other gods as well as Jakan was all incredible. I fell in love with these characters and continued to love them, laugh with them, want for them, hurt with them. And no, I can't choose just one of the guys. Because #whychoose. They're all perfect for Willa and balance each other out.

This is one of my absolute favorite series! It's a go to when I'm sad and need a laugh. I probably read it once a year.
