Charley's Christmas Wolf by C.D. Gorri
4.0
Thank you C.D. Gorri for generously providing me with this audiobook.
This paranormal novella follows the story of the Macconwood Pack, whose primary mission is to find a suitable mate for their Alpha, Rafe.
Charley has no one in her life except for her cat, and has a miserable job working for ungrateful owners. Sensing that she might be a perfect match for their Alpha, Rafe's Wolf Guard takes it upon themselves to kidnap her and introduce her to Rafe. Despite being furious at how the situation was handled, Rafe takes an instant liking to his potential mate. Charley, on the other hand, initially fears the pack and is skeptical when she finds out they are werewolves. However, as her fear subsides, she finds herself attracted to Rafe, and agrees to become his mate until Christmas Eve, after which Rafe promises to let her go to resume her life. Over the course of the few weeks she spends among the pack, Charley starts to imagine a life within their community, which ultimately leads her to make a life-altering decision.
The story unfolds at a rapid pace. Personally, I would have liked to see them getting to know each other a bit better first before jumping into an intimate relationship right away. Also, a large number of the pack is introduced at one go, so it was hard to keep track of everyone. Nevertheless, I found the story overall enjoyable and would suggest it to those who love a spicy paranormal story.
