This book was my first ever Steven King and after all the hype it did not disappoint. The narrative was so well crafted and original with any and all plot twists making such perfect sense while also being surprising. I’m not sure what genre you would put with book into, a thriller? magical realism? it doesn’t really feel like any of those to me. From reading this book you can clearly tell King is an experienced author and I understand why his books have such high regard.
I did feel however that I didn’t feel particularly attached to any of the characters. This meant the ending didn’t have much of an impact on me which I am sad about because I can imagine how many tears I would have shed if I had cared enough :(.
Overall this book was very well crafted and it makes me understand all the hype surrounding Steven King as an author. I am definitely excited to read more from him. 4 stars.
