The Solicitor's Son by Rachael Anderson
4.0
Loved this third book in the Serendipity series! I love romances that have a sweet and smart heroine who is loved by someone who respects her abilities and talents. Sophie is the eldest daughter who has had three failed seasons and is about to give up hope of finding real love. She is about reading to possibly marry Mr. Faucett, a nice man who is kind and steady. However, she has never forgotten her friend Hugh from her childhood who was taken from her life by her father. Hugh has never forgotten Sophie either, and when her brother-in-law shows up in his office asking him for help with his in-laws finances, Hugh agrees to put aside his anger at Sophie’s family in order to help Sophie. Can Sophie and Hugh overcome their differences in order to recognize true love, or will Sophie’s station in life prevent them from HEA?
Rachael Anderson’s characters have humor, warmth, and depth and are fun to read about. This book can easily be finished in a day and was hard to put down. It can be read as a stand alone, but it is better read as part of the series because it is much more enjoyable to see characters from previous books and their continuing stories along with Sophie’s. Highly recommend this series! Look forward to reading more by this author.
