Karen Dionne’s The Wicked Sister needed a level of suspension of disbelief, but I think it was attainable given the circumstances of the plot. This was an entertaining and short read, although l found the protagonist to be too malleable. While I recognize we are talking about a woman who may not have a reliable memory, I think there were some gaps in the narrative that failed to establish her as either a reliable or unreliable narrator. She ended up falling somewhere in the middle, which left her vulnerable to suggestions as she was when she was a child. Ultimately, I found the ending to be unsatisfying, though I do think it was close to character for our protagonist. If you’re a fan of thriller and suspense novels with a touch of fantasy, then this is the book for you.
