DC Pride 2021 #1 by Sam Johns, Andrew Wheeler, Andrew Wheeler, Nicole Maines

I was interested to see what the DC Pride comic looked like after the Marvel Pride collection was such a dud, and I can happily say DC's was a lot nicer! The stories themselves were well-contained and actually worked on their own, instead of forcing readers to refer to other issues to understand the plot. It was also nice to see LGBT+ characters as the protagonists of every story. Each piece had a unique art style, which was also super fun! I know that alternating art styles within one work can frustrate some readers, but it really worked for me here - it gave each story its own feeling and vibe, which I really liked.

Overall, my favorite stories were probably "The Wrong Side of the Looking Glass" (featuring Batwoman) and "Another Word For A Truck To Move Your Furniture" (featuring Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy). The only piece that I didn't like that much was "Date Night" (featuring Dreamer) and only because it focused so much on superhero antics, and because I tend to prefer less comic-book-y art styles. Every other story I more or less enjoyed. This was a fun read and a pleasant surprise! Keep up the good work, DC.
