This was a fun and entertaining second chance romance, mixed with just the right amount of jealousy and miscommunication.
I am always on the hunt for lesbian and bisexual fiction, and this one has been on my list for a while, and for the most part, it did not dissapoint. I loved the friendships in this story and the love they had for each other, alongside their romantic partners. I don't know if I have come across too many romance books that make the platonic love in the story such an important element, and that made me very happy to see--as someone who apprecates my platonic relationships nearly just as much as my romantic relationship.
The romance was well built up and for the most part I was completely satisfied with this story; but then I got to the last 5 chapters. My major issue here was that the pacing of the book picked up too too fast and abruptly, and the climax suffered because of it. I feel like there was more that could have been shown, in the lead up to the big moment at the end (you'll know what I mean when you get there) and also after it. In my opinion as a writer, editor and an avid reader, there should have been at least two more chapters in this book (outside of the epilogue, which was very fun... but I do have a few spoilery thoughts about that - see below). I did have a great time reading this book and definitely would recommend it for a fun summer romance read.
I have not read any more of Alexandria's books but I do plan on checking out Written in the Stars sometime soon!
