Bed Me, Earl by Felicity Niven

Characters: Lady Caroline Haskett and Phineas Edge, the Earl of Burchester

This heroine annoyed me so much. She sleeps with the Earl, he finds out that she was his friend’s sister and he becomes smitten with her. To the point where he wants to marry her and she has been in love with him since she was 17, she’s 30 now, but because of her stupid lisp she keeps denying him from courting her. 

She was so frustrating to read, it felt like the author deliberately made her that way just to drag out the story.
