The Theft of America's Soul: Blowing the Lid Off the Lies That Are Destroying Our Country by Phil Robertson

4.0

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - The Theft of America’s Soul is for every American, every Christian, and anyone who wants to see the restoration of a God-led and thriving America, once again. For now things are not going so well. America is in the midst of a culture war where dangerous lies seek to replace the truth in our country, and in many cases have already done so. Every day, everywhere, we are told: (i) That God is dead; (ii) That the devil does not exist; (iii) That truth is relative; (iv) That God did not create life; (v) That Sex is for self gratification; (vi) That Virtue is passé; (vii) That Only convenient laws should be followed and that inconvenient laws should be changed or ignored; (viii) That Unity is impossible; (ix) That Participation in church and people's daily lives should be separated; and (x) That Christians ought to just shut up.

I enjoyed listening to this as it is read by the author - any fan of Phil would enjoy this listen. Phil has such a straightforward, easy manner that is hard to ignore. The material presented here is not new or revolutionary by any stretch but a reminder of how we got where we are; he presents the lie and the truth that refutes it. It was especially affecting to read this during our current pandemic, lock-down, quarantined state of the world and the rhetoric that is absent during this time. How more and more Americans are turning back toward God (or toward something) and toward truth. How simple things like sidewalk chalk and family dinners are replacing the go go go of busy schedules by both parents and kids. How families are finding joy in each other and just by being with one another.
