The Disenchantments by Nina LaCour

4.0

Nina LaCour has quickly become one of my favorite authors. THE DISENCHANTMENTS is a beautiful book, filled with that all-too familiar teenage angst and the questions that revolve around high school graduation. I liked the male POV, but felt Colby was still written mostly for girls, not that that is a bad thing. He's in love with his best friend, Bev, who does some strange things that are never really explained and the things that are make sense, but she's not an altogether likeable character. However, I still found myself liking her because Colby saw something so beautiful in her. I really loved all of the the little threads LaCour used to tie certain characters together. Overall, a great, angsty read.
