The Silkworm by Robert Galbraith

3.0

I didn't read the book that came before this one, but I plucked this off the virtual library shelf mainly out of curiosity (because we all know who this author really is, right?). Although I found it sometimes over-written for my taste, the cast of characters was intriguing and it held my interest all the way through. I found the main character a little too reminiscent of Stephen R. Donaldson's Thomas Covenant--in other words, kind of annoying in his preoccupation with his disability. I don't mean to downplay such a challenge, but I felt the author overused it as a character element.

At any rate, though, the plot was engaging and the pace leisurely but compelling. I think most mystery readers would enjoy!
