Emotionally Powerful by Selina A. Fenech

4.0

The empath chronicles definitely gets better with each instalment. Emotionally Powerful kept me on edge from start to finish and I smashed through it in one sitting.
I loved the characters developments, especially Emma’s turn around. Also enjoyed getting some chapters from Dean’s POV.

My only gripe is it’s targeted audience is teenagers/YA. Livvy, main character is teenager herself. In this book she avoids going to others for help, choosing to tackle things on her own. She didn’t reach out to her friends for help. She even says she should but doesn’t. I think books targeting YA need to have guidance woven into the meanings. Teaching teenagers it’s ok to reach out, especially when feeling overwhelmed.
Thankfully she does redeem herself when she asked Rayni’s permission to use her to help save the day.
