So there will be spoilers. Do not keep reading unless you want to read spoilers. I am about to unleash some fury right here....

Let's get on with it.

OMFG THIS BOOK! Let me just say that I have never been so angry as when I realized Kricket's father is still alive. What a douchecanoe. DOUCHECANOE!!!!!! Who the FUCK leaves their daughter on a separate world, alone and abandoned for a freaking prophecy?! This douche-nugget apparently saves one child and leaves the other. I have to say right now, that I am feeling some full on HATRED for her parents. Her mom leaves one child to grow up with the Alameeda, and I definitely couldn't abandon my kid for some man no matter how much I loved him. Secondly, her dad leaves her. Just flat out leaves her. Did he have any clue what would happen to her? YES because they lived on earth, and he still freaking left her. I hate him, I'm sure in the next book he'll be some nice guy, but I will still hate him. I hope Trey hands him his ass. He deserves a serious ass-kicking...

I feel bad for Astrid, because it wasn't her choice to leave Kricket behind, and it seems like she's been trying to find her for years. However, Kricket's resentment is totally understandable. I would resent the shit out of Astrid. What's so great about her that she got to grow up with her people and world while Kricket got nearly forced into prostitution because of Dan.

I loved this book even this rant aside, honestly a huge kudos to Amy Bartol for making me feel so passionate on Kricket's behalf that I am irately angry even 2 hours after finishing this book. Seriously 5 out of 5 stars, and I have to go stalk book 3 now. I need an ARC copy like yesterday.
