I am not really sure what I expected from this book. I picked this book up on a whim at a used bookstore, and I do not think I actually read the synopsis. This book follows a woman in her mid-thirties who has completely lost her sense of self. Her husband, the only man she has ever been with, has passed away, and she works as a waitress to pass the time. One day, she stumbles across a journal that a customer left behind and uncovers a secret society that helps women live their greatest sexual fantasies.
This book is definitely for a more mature audience. It was very okay, but I did not think it was a groundbreaking smutty story. I did not think the main character's choices were always believable. The book takes place over the course of a year, but I felt like she changed her mind so dramatically too quickly.
