Fire & Blood by George R.R. Martin

A seriously impressive book. So many names, twists, turns, family trees, lordships established or overthrown, and a whole lot more. I prefer the novel style of the ASOIAF series, but this was an unexpected joy to read. It made me sort of bristle at the fact that WoW hasn't arrived yet and made me want to read the series all over again. It was mostly a breeze, though the final conspiracy was a bit of a slog to get through but that could be just because it was right at the end and followed by a long discussion of appointments fir regencies (which for me was a bore). A pity we'll never see the sequel to this or A Dream of Spring.
