I really liked it overall but didn't find it as enthralling as its predecessor. Don't get me wrong, it wasn't boring in any way and certainly had its shiny moments, but I just comparatively loved the political maneuvers in Golden Son. Unfortunately, I also found the pacing somewhat jarring again, especially the ending which felt quite rushed, and I wasn't a fan of the
Spoiler'unreliable narrator' twist. It felt as if the protagonist blatantly lied to the reader somewhat when it happened, which could have been executed better. Considering that with the subsequent events that lacked any consequences alongside a somewhat cheesy epilogue,
I feel like it kinda soured my experience so I'm afraid there isn't much more to say. I feel like it's a 3.5 ⭐ book ( felt the same about the first one ), but I'mma round up to a 4 since I really enjoyed everything else until that point. I won't be continuing this series till the remaining books come out however, as I am impatient to wait. 😅
