Buddha, Vol. 1: Kapilavastu by Osamu Tezuka

2.0

I am admittedly neither a great student, nor a great consumer, of the graphic novel, so I do not consider my lack of wonder at Tezuka's work here to be any definitive reflection on his professional and critical reputation. But the cartoony style of the art, together with the sheer scale of the narrative sweep, left me cold, and without any drive to grab the next impressive-looking tome anytime soon.
