I really like this series. I read the third one, A Cold Nose for Murder, back in January (I think) and I wanted to come back and read the first one. It was so much fun getting to know the beginnings of these characters.
I am glad that even though they’re in a series, each book’s mystery is self contained. You do not need to read them in order. As I said I read the third one months ago and there is nothing in the first one that you need to know to understand the third.
I thought (almost) all the characters were fun and lovable, which really ramped up the stakes as to who murdered Victoria. I found myself not wanting anyone to be guilty because I liked them too much.
I also think the talking dog is fun, but not overdone or obnoxious.
All in all, a really fun cozy mystery series that I will be continuing :))
