I’ve loved The Female Persuasion and The Interestings, so I was excited to see what Wolitzer’s early work was like. This book was very different from what I expected from reading the summary. The Death Girls as a group are not explored very much and we never did get resolution to
what the fuck was happening to Laura
. Also, her relationship with Julian was brushed past quickly, and I wanted to see more of a bond there. Still, I was interested in Claire’s relationships with the assortment of characters around her, only wished they were developed more thoroughly.  Sleepwalking is good, but it definitely lacks the intense detail and mesmerizing prose that is present in Wolitzer’s later books.
