4.5! Enjoyed so much of this book. And Margaret Owen is a new favorite author. Already picking up the next book as I write this.
Beautiful writing, likable characters, original world building and a great plot. I fell in love with Fie as soon as she did the crows money dance.
Probably my one “complaint” is the magic system. And maybe that the love interest was a tiny bit too perfect. I loved him, but he really never says or does anything wrong, which made him feel a bit like a “how to guide” for dealing with certain issues than a real character in some moments. Also I didn’t really get why he liked Fie since she spends most of the book being mean to him….
