This book gave me a remarkably familiar feeling to when I read the Divergent series. It’s a formulaic amalgamation of all the major isms of the fantasy romance genre. Did I devour it in a matter of days? Absolutely. But when I put it down I felt like I had just stuffed my face with a meal of nutrient deficient food that made my stomach churn. That being said i will still likely muscle my way through the sequel.
