The Satanic Verses by Salman Rushdie

Did not finish book. Stopped at 38%.
I’m not finishing this (for now at least, but not certain I’ll ever come back to it) for the same eloquent reasons other people have left in the reviews (particularly here: https://app.thestorygraph.com/reviews/b184b368-9512-4400-8218-68e869701456 and here: https://app.thestorygraph.com/reviews/ae06be6b-b814-470f-9cf4-cc2f3c63129c). It is extremely slow and meandering and I don’t find the writing to be quite engaging or beautiful enough to enjoy it, even though i usually love literary writing. There are just too many other books out there for me to continue with this one right now.
