Children of Blood and Bone by Tomi Adeyemi

3.0

It was fine. I was expecting more. It took me a long time to get into it. I didn't think the world was very well actualized. The mythology was interesting, but the action was slow to build and I didn't feel very invested in any of the characters. I did appreciate some of the twists that kept it from being some kind of boilerplate fantasy novel, but I think I was hoping for something to binge. I will probably read the next one, but not dying to.
