This was a definite stretch for me, and I’m glad it was recommended to me. I don’t actually recall ever having read a book in verse before, so this was a ride, for sure.
The poems follow little episodes of Moth’s life, and we as the readers, are on a journey with her as she tries to reconcile a terrible tragedy in her life with who she has become as a result.
It was easy to follow, but definitely atmospheric and beautifully written. It’s a quick read, so if this is your first foray into books of verse (like me), then it’s perfect as a starting point!!
