In this series it definitely has middle book syndrome where I kinda just wasn't impressed with the writing as much as the first book. However, we continue to see DJ develop as a person and discover herself, which I greatly appreciate. We also gain more insight into her relationship with Brian, and she becomes more aware of what she needs out of a relationship. I love watching her grow and learn what she accepts and can't accept in how others treat her. Plus there was moments that left me near tears regarding the end.
