I had quite high expectations for this because I'd heard it's one of Christie's best. I can see why people think that but it wasn't one of my favourites. It's a solid mystery and it's very clever, but I didn't find the format that compelling. The plot follows Poirot solving a murder from 16 years ago and his investigations mainly involve listening multiple accounts of the same events, which became a little repetitive. However Christie's writing is very good as usual and I didn't guess the resolution because I fell into her trap of believing exactly what she wanted me to believe.
