The Truths We Burn by Monty Jay
3.0
3.75/5
I enjoyed returning to this complex world with its lies, bloodshed, and deeper look into the township and its monsters.
Sage hides her true self behind a perfect façade, while Rook faces heart-wrenching experiences, losing his previous goofy energy. The heartbreak Rook felt after Sage crushed his heart and their year-long misery was moving. Though their back and forth felt repetitive, it made sense given Rook’s pain.
I sympathize with Silas and hope for the best for him, and Thatcher's charm makes me excited for his story. The found family element in this book is fantastic!
