This series keeps getting better and better! Neva’s writing continues to amaze me each time I pick up her books.

Sergei is a member of the bratva and Roman’s half-brother. At 14, he was scouted and trained to become a killer, and because of the missions he went on, he suffers from PTSD. Sergei kills without remorse and therefore, to the people who don’t really know, he can appear unhinged.

Angelina is the daughter of the former leader of the Mexican cartel and arranged to marry the new leader. Angelina, not wanting the marriage or this to be her life, runs away. When Angelina is discovered barely alive by Sergei, Sergei instantly becomes protective of her, taking her back to his home and nursing her back to health.

We get a glimpse of Sergei and Angelina meeting for the first time in the second book and I couldn’t wait to read that scene from Sergei’s perspective and what transpired afterwards.

Sergei is just a normal guy who just reactions to situations differently from everyone else because of his past training and Angelina accepts that. She loves him for who he is and makes him feel like he isn’t the crazy person everyone sees him as. The development of their relationship, though a little fast, was beautiful. I especially loved how Angelina would help Sergei through his episodes instead of sitting back and doing nothing. Angelina doesn’t see him as a crazy person, she sees him as himself.

I also loved the relationship and the banter between Sergei and Felix (Albert) and Sergei and Roman. And also Mimi! Overall really loved this book!
