This is only my third Terry Pratchett book, but I am beginning to enjoy the way he writes. There's lot of little call backs and word plays that you have to pay attention to enjoy and I've reached an age where I can actually enjoy them.
I enjoyed this book more than I enjoyed Guards, Guards, but I do feel that the story is very much a product of its time. I'm hoping that more and more female characters keep getting added and the ones we have get fleshed out. The distinct lack of Lady Sybil and Vetinari's few scenes makes me see how people ship Vetinari and Vimes. I hope Lady Sybil returns. I really enjoyed her in Guards, Guards.
