The Dreaming: Waking Hours by G. Willow Wilson

4.0

Overall, this is a really sweet story. Far less about the Dreaming (or most of its residents) than the previous iteration of “The Dreaming” was. But there are some delightfully wild ideas here - multiple Shakespeares, a nightmare falling in love with a human, and a witch being hunted by Puck himself. The results aren’t always as spectacular as the premises, and (as is often the case in all “Sandman”- related stories) some storylines aren’t explored as in-depth as you’d like them to be and the conclusion feels a bit rushed. But on the whole, a very worth addition to the Sandman Universe. Packed with creative ideas, gorgeous artwork, and giant heapings of heart. It’s well worth a read.
