Shark Lady: The True Story of How Eugenie Clark Became the Ocean's Most Fearless Scientist by Jess Keating

4.0

Excellent children's biography about Eugenie Clark, a truly fearless scientist with a love for sharks. As a fellow shark-lover, I could not believe I hadn't heard of her before! (**Update** I had heard of her before, but the book I read on her as a child was old and from 1978, thus not as rememberable.)

The illustrations are done in fun, cartoon-ish style using photoshop and not only showcase beautiful sharks, but are also a fun and fresh way to tell Clark's story. The "shark bites" and timeline at the end were nice additions to this already informative text, that would be easily read and understood by early elementary school students. A fun way to showcase this amazing woman and her contribution to science.
