After reading this novel, I feel like it lives up to the hype. I listened to the audiobook on Libby and felt so close to the characters - pup included. Incredible writing - full of intent and personality. I always ache for a more complex, nuanced perspective on gender that goes beyond the binary, which this lacks, as do many books, but I will still read whatever Garmus puts out next!
