The Genius of Birds by Jennifer Ackerman

Learnt a lot about birds around the world, various experiments and studies, and the history of studying bird cognition. But there's also lots of food for thought that is applicable to how we see human intelligence and neurodiversity as well - how we tend to frame difference as deficit. How difficult it is to measure something as complex as cognition, intention, reasoning, planning, theory of mind, creativity. And how we completely overlook types of intelligence that we ourselves don't possess by asking the wrong question in the first place.
