On a quiet day, during the beginning of the Covid pandemic, when faced with a lack of social connection, I began taking long solitary walks. During these walks, I utilized audio books to keep me company. Having newly come out as a lesbian I needed characters that would touch my soul. Finding Nancy Healy's tales regarding Alex and Cassie were exactly the balm I needed. 

I am very pleased to read the books, for myself, for the first time. I have never felt so deeply connected to any character as I do to Alex Toles.
