I'll Meet You There by Heather Demetrios

3.0

While reading this book, I was actually shocked and sympathetic of the Marines serving in countries such as Afghanistan. The reality hit me, of the effects of war, in these modern times. There are families out there who are affected as well - the families of those in the military. Josh Mitchell's story is raw and heartbreaking, and the former popular guy with all the ladies come home after serving for a few years with trauma from the war and a prosthetic leg. He reconnects with Skylar Evans, the quintessential good girl who will be going off to college, and they bonded over their urge to leave the trailer park community of Creek View. Little did they know that they would end up falling for each other, making them rethinking their plans. This is a beautiful story of companionship, telling us that what these Marines, with their future ahead of them, needed friendship and support most of all from the terrors of war.
