Carve the Mark by Veronica Roth

4.0

I am a massive fan of the Divergent series and when I found out that Veronica Roth was releasing a different type of novel, I was eager to discover the new world and characters she introduced in this book.
Veronica Roth has a very clever way of setting a scene in a novel, especially considering they are always set in dystopic worlds and different from our reality. It allows us to put ourselves in a world so different from our own, yet still signifying the ongoing problems in society.
With this novel, it was all based on the segregation between two 'races' and how the land was separated into their own factions.
To follow the story of two completely different characters from the different factions and how their perspective changed on what they were told during their childhood really signifies how we shouldn't judge something based on what we hear, but more we need to experience it for ourselves and make our own judgements.
I am excited to read the sequel to this novel and see how the character's journey continues as they fight for what they believe is right and unite the two factions together for the better.
