Forever in the Country by Alexandra Hale

5.0

Forever in the Country is the fifth book in the Clementine Creek series by Alexandra Hale, featuring a riveting friends to lovers romance for Sorren and Rhea. he’s the ultimate protector who has spent his life taking care of others— his sister, his country, and now his town. When an an injury sends him home to Clementine Creek, Sorren is the one who needs saving, and Rhea is right there by his side in whatever capacity he needs every step of the way. The pull between them is strong, but he doesn’t think he deserves her yet. When she does something to force him to act, the passion explodes, but can he shake the ghosts of his past before they ruin his future?

Wow! This is the first book I’ve read by this author, and I was blown away! I wish I would have had time to read all the other books first, but I didn’t have trouble enjoying it without them. I’m a sucker for wounded warrior/ military vets, so I loved Sorren right away. His emotions were very authentic and I loved watching him evolve throughout the story. Rhea was a beautiful and strong woman, and I was really proud of her for giving him that big nudge! Boy did she unleash the fire! They had some seriously spicy chemistry!!
